Description
When it comes to high grade Danish pipes, outside of a Private Collection, in my opinion it doesn't get a whole lot better than a Poul Winslow "A" grade. This top of the line in his grading series which runs in descending order from A-E is undeniably some of Poul's finest work and a quintessentially Danish shape, the Horn. It remains unsmoked and while looking at the grain it is simply mesmerizing and no surprise it earned such a high mark. Octagonal, despite its geometrical design it fits perfectly in hand, quite well balanced and will rest on its own as shown. The walls are incredibly thick while the rim is convex with an inward sloping interior leading to a relatively modest chamber. As the bowl tapers it effortlessly swoops up to meet the original crisp black acrylic stem with straight bit and inlaid dual silver dot logo. The finish is classic Danish contrast which highlights the remarkable ultra fine cross grain on the flanks while the long front and rear panels are completely loaded with stunning birdseye. Comes complete with original leather logo glove and awaits its first smoke, a fantastic opportunity to pick up and exceptional pipe from Poul Winslow!Nomenclature: WINSLOW, HAND CUT DENMARK, A
