Rare Antique Recycled 7 Layer Venetian Chevron Early African Trade Bead Ghana #1

DESCRIPTION:  This appears to be an Early Antique Venetian Seven Layer Chevron Bead that has been Reworked and Melted probably in Ghana.  I think I can still see the tiny pieces of the 7 layer Antique Venetian Chevron near one bead opening- (or perhaps it could be the "eye" of an Ancient Islamic Trade Bead?), and the characteristic Red, White, and Blue Colored Glass in the swirls.  Ancient Islamic Red, White and Blue Trade Beads were also reworked, in Mali, and give a very similar look.
Seven Layer Chevrons are quite valuable and broken beads were reworked and reheated into new beads, as were Ancient Islamic and other valuable beads.  The seven layer chevron can generally date from the late 1400's through the 1700's.  The re-worked bead is thought to be contemporaneous in age with the 7 layer chevron, according to a Picard resource on Chevrons*. Both 7 layer Chevrons and Ancient Islamic reworked beads are interesting and rare, and are great to have either in a piece of Jewelry, or in your Trade Bead Collection.
Size:  ~18mm hole to hole (H-H) X 11mm wide.
CONDITION:
This is a circulated Antique Trade Bead, and shows some surface wear, as expected, but is in above average condition. I see several tiny flea bite chips on the ends- nothing big, and no cracks. One end is smooth and the other more irregular.
